“At home, when Thiago and Mateo watch football games together, Mateo likes to celebrate Real Madrid’s goals to tease his brother,” Messi said. Furthermore, Mateo doesn’t miss the opportunity to tease his own father. According to Messi, during games at home, the boy always mentions Liverpool and Valencia, two teams that caused his father difficulties throughout his career.

“When we play ball together in the backyard, he says: ‘I’m Liverpool and Valencia, because they beat you’,” Messi added.
