In addition to the mild climate and numerous outdoor activities, Miami is a great city for cycling. From trails for beginners to technical obstacles, the city is the ideal destination for cycling. Some options for practicing the sport in Miami are: Oleta River State Park, Virginia Key Beach North Point Park and Key Biscayne.

Oleta River State Park
Inside the park you can witness wildlife such as squirrels, rabbits, deer. Most routes offer a well-shaded area, arriving at destinations with bay views or urban city views. For the more experienced cyclist, the challenge, Gilligan’s Trail, offers tough grounds to test your skills. This trail can take anywhere from 30 minutes to 1.5 hours, depending on your experience. These trails are for those looking for adventure experiencing what Miami was like before all the skyscrapers and luxury condos.

Virginia Key Beach North Point Park
North of Key Biscayne is one of the best bike trails in Miami. The mountain trails are situated in the far north and were built to allow all levels of riders to enjoy the thrills of mountain biking whilst being surrounded by nature and water.
The island offers unforgettable beaches, a nearby coastal barrier reef and an underwater archaeological trail. While Key Biscayne is best known for its underwater recreation, there’s plenty to see on land too, and biking is a possibility. The island’s gem for cyclists is the nine-mile Rickenbacker Trail, which runs the length of Key Biscayne. Those who take the route are rewarded with views of the bay and the Miami skyline, as well as beautiful beaches and lush vegetation on the island.
